The University of Chicago student

The University of Chicago student government elections have been pretty tumultuous the past few days, resulting from a physical altercation between two candidates regarding vandalized posters. Voting began Monday, and continues all week. The Chicago Maroon a has frontpage article about it, and the Chicago Weekly News published an extra. The Election & Rules committee reviewed the incident, and ordered the two slates invovled, Odessey and Solidarity, to remove all campaign material by midnight of May 1. At 1:00 AM May 2, my friend Jeremy Posadas, Chief Justice of the SG Supreme Court, filed an injuction turning over the E&R decision. So now the two slates can campaign again, after tearing down all their signs. Considering how apathetic most students feel towards SG, this election chaos is sure making it interesting.
