My friend David forwarded me
My friend David forwarded me this Washington Post article about the current violence in the Middle East. The article makes veiled comparisons between Palestinian leader Yassar Afarat and Hitler, and also implies that US and Israeli policies are 'appeasing' Arafat's aggressions. The article gives a justified perspective on the causes of the conflict, contrary to the majority of the media that strives for passivity. Unfortunately, the article does not address what should be done in response to the current violence. Is it justified to use a little violent military force now to reduce the chances of all out war in the future? Certainly that would have been ideal to prevent World War II. Or, should we hold to the moral supremacy of diplomacy?
I don't know.
