I just got back from
I just got back from my Calculus midterm, on which I think I did very well. My teacher - Robert Kottwitz - is an outstanding teacher rivaling even Mr. McGowan, my high school calculus teacher. I should qualify the statement that I did very well: I understood the concepts very well, but I probably made errors writing up the proofs (and I know I screwed up a proof for uniform continuity). I have a tendency to write up proofs in a way that makes sense to me, but doesn't always demonstrate the most mathematical rigor. Us outside-the-box types have a tendency to do that. It's too bad Kottwitz is taking a sabbatical next quarter to work at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton.
I've been pretty stressed out lately, and I'm glad this test could give me some motivation.
