My sister gets a weblog (again)
Update: Bethany’s essay for her application to U of C is incredible.
The Fascinating Life of Pat Smith is my sister’s weblog. Her name’s not Pat Smith. It’s Bethany. I think Pat Smith was some kind of inside joke with her friends or something. I don’t get it, but it’s funny to them. Here’s an excerpt from her weblog:
Did you know that “faire cheese” is actually a phrase in french? It means to smile for the camera, just like “say cheese” means in english…those crazy French people.

my name isnt pat smith, but my pen name is. i wanted it to be as vague as possible so that more people could relate to my writing, as opposed to having it be gender or race specific. the pat part comes from the movie “its pat” where they cant figure out if pat is a boy or girl, and smith is just really common. also i like the sound of pat smith. so, that is where the name comes from, just in case you were wondering :D

interesting that every nation thinks about the people of other nations as being “crazy”…i’m originally from romania (europe, just in case)…and i used to think the same about americans (and i still do)..by the way, the same way think the french people about us (americans)…
