Aaron’s excited about music he recognized

Ok, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers trailer is out. It looks wicked sweet, as expected. But what makes it even cooler is that the background music is “Lux Aeterna”. It’s the same haunting music from Requiem for a Dream and possibly 2001: A Space Odyssey (I’ll have to check about the latter).

Anyway, it’s a great song. You should download the Kronos Quartet version. It’ll rock your contemporary classical butt.

    Hi Aaron,
it is true the music “lux aeterna” is magnificient in the background of this trailer.
However I need to ask you about that specific version of “Lux aeterna” which is very different than the Requiem for a dream version.
Can u please give me more details about it, cause I really need to buy it on CD or something.
    Thanks,
    F.

Firas, I don’t know who performs the version on the LOTR trailer. I just recognized that it was a cover of Lux Aeterna.

While I have performed excessive “file-hunting,” and found various versions of Lux Aeterna, even an extended version of that in the Two Towers trailer, I still cannot find the exact version that was used in the trailer. If anyone can provide a link or even e-mail the file itself, I will be much indebted.

Howard Shore did the cover of Lux Aeterna for the two towers trailer. after all, he did score the movie
