Evening Recap

This evening was pretty chill. Margaret and I went to a sushi bar in Old Town. I had Chimay beer at the restaurant, which is really good beer (perhaps a bit on the pretentious side—I’ll stick to Rolling Rock for most social situations in college). Then we saw Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Except for Yoda’s performance in the end, the movie was cheesy and predictable. At points, people in the theater laughed at how bad the acting was.

Afterwards, Margaret and I had a thought-provoking conversation about our concepts of self. My Science as Cultivation class and Margaret’s Buddhist Thought class have provided new ways for us to situate ourselves in relation to the world.

Yea philosophical conversation! (Point to ponder: what role should other people’s perception play in our self-perception?)

as any good student of the common core will tell you if you do not identify yourself through other people’s perspectives of you the entire fabric of real society falls down. the ability to incorporate other people’s perceptions of ourselves into our selves is the basis for humanity (read Vygotsky).

Ruthie, I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Aaron makes me sound like a gigantic nerd. *Sigh* Sometimes the truth hurts.
