					<description>every year of their marriage (which, granted, only lasted 2 or 3 years), including on their honeymoon, my mom and stepdad went to the kentucky derby.  for this reason the entire event is extremely sketchy to me.  this story, however, makes the entire event much more comical and cartoonish, which, in retrospect, makes just as much sense.

hey, i bet my stepdad was there.  did you see a sketchy looking blading man with a creepy moustache and a really bad sweater?  oh, yeah, that was probably half the crowd.  did some man offer you a dollar if you could name the person who wrote the star-spangled banner?  if so, we may have our man.
