Good and Bad
Warm weather has enraptured Chicago once again, seducing students to believe that they might actually get work done while basking in the Quads.
Good things about the warm weather include:
(1) Iced coffee. Iced coffee is inconceivably good, especially black iced coffee with a shot of espresso, a personal concoction I call “Mr. Bitterness”. Mm, good.
(2) Flip-flops that cost $3 and make a cool sound when I walk.
(3) The feeling of warm humid air on your skin after being in an air-conditioned building. It reminds me of the beach, and I take a deep breath half expecting to smell salty air.
Bad things include:
(1) Falsely thinking you could do your 100+ pages of reading outside, then begrudgingly going inside. (Aside: any book with ÔhermeneuticsÕ in the title, such as Passage to Modernity: An Essay in the Hermeneutics of Nature and Culture, by Louis DuprŽ, is really boring.)

Flip flops? Where did you find them? I tried to buy some at Osco last night and they had nothing of the sort. :(

I bought them at the beach this summer. Sorry.

Flip-flops should only be bought at the beach.

I disagree. I believe that flip flops (or thongs, as they were called before the glory days of skimpy underwear) should be purchased whenever a person feels the need for cheap, comfortable and cool footwear. 86 degrees in Chicago qualifies for sure.

Flip flops can be bought at your local Old Navy megaplex.
As for the 3 good things and one bad thing, I COMPLETELY agree. Iced coffee, open toed shoes, and sucking down humid air after being inside are all great.
And believe me, reading boring stuff gets much more interesting once you’re done with school and reading it for pleasure. Not that I’d read anything like *that* for fun, but you get me.
