Math Class
So, today in math class, we were studying the compactness of sets (don’t worry–you don’t have to know compact sets to understand this post). We were taking about some function called Fu(xi), pronounced F-sub-U of X-sub-I. Or, for brevity’s sake, you could just say F-U of X-I. So, this kid raised his hand and asked, “Are we talking about the function F-U?” Even though he meant the question honestly, I burst out laughing. The professor, for whom English is a second language, didn’t understand what was funny about Fu, so he simply replied, “Yes, F-U.”
Later in that same class, we talked about a sequence bj. I guess math has a lot to do with §ex.
